Fiber optics play another important role in the delivery of broadband signals. ATX has developed its Q-Series expertise in RF amplifiers into a line of optical products to meet their customers’ needs for fiber technology.

Headend Broadband Optical Receiver (QFRN)
The 2RU QFRN 750 and 870 MHz fiber amplifiers are designed for headend and hub applications. They provide power-doubled and quadra-power RF output technology.

The 2-way model offers maximum RF output due to the lower insertion loss of the plug-in interstage pad and EQ design. It also comes with an integral optical power meter and reverse sweep insertion test point. The 1-way version has plug-in accessories and variable gain and tilt controls.

Headend Return Path Optical Receiver (QFQR)
The 1RU QFQR holds 2 or 4 independent return path optical receivers, which utilize high performance photodiodes & hybrid amplification. An optical power indicator along with an RF test port on the front panel can be used to quickly monitor each receiver’s operating status.

Headend Rack Mounted Optical Transmitter (QFOT)
ATX stocks 1310 optical transmitters with optical power outputs from 4 mW (6 dBm) to 22 mW (14 dBm). These transmitters are designed for broadband optical transport or distribution from 54-870 MHz or 1000 MHz. This 1RU chassis offers local and optional remote monitoring capability along with a reliable electronics display for setting parameters and viewing current operating levels.

Headend Rack Mounted Optical Transmitter (QFCT)
Now available is the QFCT, a 1310nm optical transmitter with optical power outputs from 4 mW (6 dBm) to 22 mW (14 dBm) and a frequency response from 54-1000 MHz. This 1RU transmitter features a cooled and isolated DFB laser with status monitoring provided on a front panel LCD display.

Also available is the QFOT1L, a 1310nm optical transmitter with optical power outputs from 4 mW (6 dBm) to 22 mW (14 dBm). These cost-effective transmitters are designed for broadband optical transport or distribution from 54-1000 MHz. This 1RU transmitter offers optimal performance featuring a cooled and isolated DFB laser with manual gain control.

Headend Rack Mounted Optical Transmitter (QFRTX)
The 2RU QFRTX optical transmitter is available in both 1310nm & 1550nm DFB 200 MHz versions. These transmitters allow the optical transmission of analog and digital video signals. It also features 3 dBm optical output, optional RF gain block and pad & EQ sockets for RF input.

Headend Rack Mounted Fiber Node (QFON)
The 1RU QFON fiber nodes are available in gains up to 48 dBmV output. Variable gain and tilt controls are featured along with a standard RFI option. The 5-350 MHz version is offered in push-pull silicon technology, while the 54-1000 MHz version is available in silicon push-pull, silicon power-doubled, or GaAs power-doubled RF output technologies. Powering is through a UL transformer and 24 VDC powering.
