CTx High Performance Chromadigm TX

ChromaFlex Chromadigm DWDM transmitters are ideal for high capacity and/or long reach applications. These high performance transmitters incorporate chirp cancelling and clipping mitigation technologies to deliver the industry’s highest MER and error-free pre-FEC BER performance to 1.218 GHz. They are distance independent and have high OMI. These high performance transmitter modules are available in 2 unique versions: CT4 and CT1. CT4 is a 4 wavelength transmitter, housed in a double-slot wide module and is typically internally multiplexed. Each transmitter has both broadcast and narrowcast inputs for each wavelength. CT1 is a single wavelength transmitter with an internal optical amplifier in a single-slot module providing up to 15 dBm optical output power.

CT4 DWDM Transmitter

CT1 DWDM Transmitter

  • 1.218 GHz chirp-free transmitter for improved MER and distance independent performance
  • Clipping mitigation for error-free QAM performance and improved MER
  • Up to 40 standard ITU wavelengths per fiber
  • Extended reach, over 100 km, eliminates remote hubs
  • Provides higher Optical Modulation Index (OMI) for improved network performance
  • Fixed 6 dBm or variable 9-15 dBm output options
  • Allows up to 40 consecutive, 100 GHz spaced ITU channels, while delivering exceptional MER and error-free, pre-FEC BER performance
  • Can split the optical output into route diverse fiber rings without performance degradation or having to retune the transmitter when switched between different lengths of fiber
  • Reduces optical launch power requirement to avoid 4 wave mixing and cross talk issues
  • Integrated, optical express ports can be added for extracting return path wavelengths along with an optical test point
  • Occupies a single-width module in the ChromaFlex chassis
